Discover Our Story
This project is created by Troupe, a collective of interdisciplinary artists who prioritize people over product and process over perfection.
We believe that how we make something matters as much as what we make.
Watch Us At Work!
A picture speaks a thousand words, even stage pictures. But we are lucky to have photographers who love to document our work – check out the process in images if words are not your jam!

A Practice Rooted in Care
Rehearsals for You, Me, and the Woodsmoke are not just about blocking scenes or memorizing lines. They’re a chance to gather, reflect, and reimagine.
We journal, cook, laugh, argue, walk, cry, and listen. We build trust through repetition, through ritual, and through shared time.
We’ve rehearsed in living rooms, on porches, in forest glades. The land is part of the ensemble. So is each artist’s lived experience. So is the audience.
This is not just a play. It’s a living process, one that keeps expanding as more people—like you—enter the circle.

Interdisciplinary & Interdependent
Troupe’s members bring experience from across disciplines:
Education. Puppetry. Sound design. Dramaturgy. Movement. Playwriting. Facilitation. Environmental design. But we don’t silo our skills. We cross-pollinate. We experiment. We ask big questions and stay with the tension.
We make room for discomfort and discovery.
We reject extractive models of making.
We’re practicing something slower, stranger, and more sustaining.
Invitation, Not Instruction
Our process isn’t prescriptive—it’s porous.
We don’t just want audiences to watch. We want them to feel part of something.
Whether you’re engaging with the performance, attending a workshop, or reading the script under a tree, we hope you feel it and that it repairs you.
And we’re so glad you’re here.
